Back in May(I know, I know) I'm really great at this whole blogging thing...we had the opportunity to go visit some friends in Seattle. I have been to Seattle quite a few times, but, It's so different going to a place with someone you're in love with. Even if you have been to a place multiple times, it gives it a different feel when you're there seeing it through different eyes along side the person you love.
This vacation was a little different, because we didn't rent a car...we were at the mercy of the people hosting us. We landed in Seattle and waited for our friends to pick us up at the airport. We got picked up and jumped in the car and drove for what seemed to be hours and hours (we had no idea where they lived). It was a little rainy and dark and it seemed as if all we could see were trees and the road and the rain. We finally arrived at our friends house in the middle of nowhere...Let me tell you, these people (whom we didn't even know...) Were the nicest hosts we have ever had in our whole lives! They fixed us our own room with towels and loofahs included, they had everything set up and dinner prepared by the time we walked in the door. I seriously couldn't believe it! They were the most inviting, welcoming, and awesome people ever!
(the awesome house we stayed in for the weekend)
The next morning we drove downtown and did the typical "Seattle sites". Of course we went to Pike's Market, a must see if you're visiting Seattle. It's the most beautiful little indoor market, we even put gum on the gum wall (which is just below the market). They sell everything there, from fish to jewelry, honey to artwork. We enjoyed our time tasting the samples, eating maple bacon donuts, and smelling the beautifully colored bouquets(which they sell for $10-$15). We listened to some very talented street performers and then we stopped at the first Starbucks that ever existed!! (It's just outside of the market on the left side if you're facing the street). We even got a chance to ride the new Seattle Great wheel, that gives you an awesome view of the bay. They say it's one of the tallest Ferris Wheels in the United states. It was really really cool and just costs $13 per person. From there we walked, yes, walked, in the rain, for about twenty minutes to the Seattle Space needle!! It wasn't that bad...and it's worth going to the top if you've never done it! It's about twelve dollars per person but the views are breathtaking, you get to walk around and see a 360* view of the city. Unfortunately, we then had to go back to the airport to catch our flight, but before we left we had to get a hot dog. Not just any hot dog though, these were Japanese style hot dogs with sea weed included. They were pretty delicious. :) Here's some pictures from our day. Enjoy!
Thank you for reading :)
